A home just opened up for sale in my neighborhood. The location. is perfect, the building is perfect, but it needs serious work - at a glance from the real estate photos, several floors need to be redone, as well as a couple ceilings and maybe walls.
My intention (depending on what I see in the tour) would be to buy, get the place to a liveable state as quickly as possible, and then make an extended project out of the rest of the renovations. My question is, are there any additional questions or considerations I should have for a home like this? I know to be on the lookout for mold and water damage, and ask about the wiring, but is there anything else? I am a first time homebuyer.
