Hello,
We moved into a new house recently and discovered that the 2-car garage is actually very tight. It is not the usual 24 feet, but 21, plus it has some ducts running to the second floor creating an even tighter fit. Getting in and out of the car is challenging, especially if you have kids/groceries.
We received a quote from another builder to extend the garage out in length by around 8 feet. This would allow the cars to stagger park, provide a lot of extra room for storage and will allow us to add a door so we can exit/enter the garage for garbage/shoveling/etc without opening the large wide door.
The price is $38,000. Seems like a lot, but everything these days seems like a lot. We intend to live in this house for quite some time, but there is also a chance that we may move in the next 3-5 years as many in our family seem to be leaving Massachusetts for North Carolina.
