Assumable VA loan in HCOL area

First time home buyer looking at a 600k property with an assumable loan at 2.5%. I am VA-loan eligible and would need to pay 75k cash. Benefit of the assumption appears to be 1500 a month. Does paying the value of 5 years of interest make sense in this scenario?
