Can a degree/graduation date be backdated?

I graduated recently, or thought I did, only to find out that the college didn’t receive a transcript for a class that I took at a different institution a year prior which I found out a day after graduation. I’ve since sent the transcript and should meet all the necessary degree requirements. Given that I technicaly met all the course requirements prior to the graduation date would the college be allowed to add the class to my transcript and say that I graduated on the original date or would I be forced to wait? I know that that policy can vary from college to college but generally speaking?
