Can a seller back out after I signed their counter offer?

Hello, can't find a definitive answer anywhere on my situation. I am in Florida and we offered a little under list price for a seller's home that came onto the market just 24 hours before our offer was placed. The seller countered back at list price, and we accepted the offer. We signed and initialed the counter offer and thought we were good to go.

I get a call from our realtor next morning that the seller decided to not sell their home 'for health reasons'.

Not only did we accept their offer at list price, but agreed to close in 60 days. We now have to release our apartment since we are required to give notice 60 days prior to releasing or moving out. We are best off releasing and then breaking our lease, adding thousands more to this process, since month to month option is 2x rent anyways.

I've never had two parties sign a contract where one changes their mind and the other is SOL. Furthermore, the home is co-owned by a corporation.

Any advice or perspectives would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!
