Can we use insurance money to pay mortgage if house is lost in a wildfire?

House was lost in wildfire and is filed as a total loss with insurance. Can I use that money to pay off the mortgage, or do I need to use it to rebuild? Do I even have to continue paying the mortgage in this case?
