Ok so I have never done this before so I have no clue what I am doing. My husband and I have outgrown our current home. I have rented it from my parents (it was my grandmothers home) for 13 years. It is a small 1950s ranch home and we have almost 2 year old twins and plan to try for a 3rd this year so needless to say we need more space. We weren’t really looking at homes yet but we happened to see one listed in the exact area we want to move to and from the photos on Zillow, we really like it. We used the “schedule a tour” button on Zillow and scheduled a tour for Saturday. I guess since we have no idea what we are doing, I wasn’t really aware that the person giving the tour would be a real estate agent. I guess I should have figured, but I thought maybe it would be a listing agent or something, I’m not sure what I thought. That being said, we were recommended a realtor through a family friend who we wanted to use but haven’t had a chance to connect with yet because this came out of the blue. Now I’m wondering if I should cancel this tour on Saturday because I don’t want to screw over this random real estate agent they assigned me if we don’t plan on using him and also I don’t want to lock myself into having to use him. I know we need to sign some sort of property viewing document or something when we arrive as per Zillow and I’m worried that form is going to lock us in to him and if we do call this referred agent, we can’t use him to buy this house if we decided to go that route. Does this make sense? Looking for some insight or guidance. I feel so overwhelmed already! lol
