How can my husband remove himself from this foreclosure? my husbands family owned some properties we called “the cabins” family members stayed for weeks at a time other members lived there permanently it was thought to be more communal. When my husband turned 18 his uncles had him sign some papers under the guise it was for “his inheritance” that ”the cabins” are now his too. The uncles and a couple other names are on this as well. Fast forward to present day we are getting letters of foreclosure on property that his uncles bought during the time I’m assuming using my husbands signature for his credit and what not. He never saw this place he’s never been to this place we never paid a dime towards it. He is getting letters of foreclosure we have no proof of anything no documents from way back then. How can he remove himself from this? We really do not want a foreclosure on his credit as we plan to buy our own house very soon. Thank you for any information.

EDIT TO ADD: A follow up question, how is this even possible if my husband didn’t provide w2 and documents of that nature. When he was 18 he worked under the table jobs He doesn’t remember giving any sort of paperwork documents, he went to the cabins with his brother for the weekend and while there signed some papers his uncles told him to so just very confused by it all and hoping we have a way out of this.
