Basically, the current bag I take to university is at the end of its life and i need a new one. I swear I have looked everywhere but I can't find something that covers all I want.

  • I 100% want it to have a padded compartment for my laptop which is 13.5 inches (surface laptop 4)
  • I'd really like it to be made of leather or vegan leather as I like the look. If not that, then some type of material that can be wiped/cleaned easily as I take it on public transport. Do not want canvas material.
  • I need it to be a good size, so that it doesn't look massive, but fits my lunch/umbrella/bottle etc.
  • I would like it to have a zip. Doesn't have to be a zip that does all the way, its ok if its one of those bags that has open parts on both ends of the zip.
  • I would also prefer that its not too structured as I like the slouchier look which fits in with uni outfits etc. I feel like super structured bags give office/work vibes and also don't fit as much.

Please help a girl out and tell me any suggestions you have! It's okay if it doesn't tick all the boxes, but I definitely need it to be big enough to fit my stuff, have a laptop compartment and be made of some easy to clean material. Everything else is more 'wants'.

So far the best I've found is the Mono Metro Tote, but its really expensive. There is also the Bellroy bags. Their Tokyo tote seems perfect but unfortunately laptop compartment isn't big enough for my laptop. Their Tokyo Wonder tote might work. But I'm after some more suggestions in case I've missed something.

Also just wanted to add that I don't want to waste money on anything designer which is super expensive. Happy to pay for a super quality product which will last though.

TIA, apologies for the checklist requirements!
