I am selling my condo and in the seller's disclosure I accidentally put the monthly amount under "annual assessments" on the disclosure form. Now the law firm that is drawing everything up for closing is saying that I under disclosed the annual assessment and that I owe the remaining 6 months worth's of assessments at closing which is about $2,000. Do I have any recourse here? I understand that I signed a contract, but it is an obvious mistake. Closing is tomorrow and I don't want to nuke the deal or anything, but I'm already just breaking even after agent commissions and I'll be losing money if I have to pay this.
