How does university work??

Hi, I’m actually so confused as to how university works in Canada. I’m in grade 11 right now and I see videos of people applying to university rn being in grade 11. Am I supposed to be applying too rn. Could someone explain how the process works of applying and stuff. I also saw someone talking about how there’s like a website u login into in grade 12 for applying is that all the provinces or just some??
