I am doing my research to become a first time homebuyer. As I live in a HCOL area, my options may be limited.
There are many affordable homes in a tract of land near me, but it’s on low-lying land close to a river that does occasionally flood.
What would you look for in a specific property to get a sense of the flood risk? Any details of construction that would decrease the damage to a home in case of flooding? Thanks!
