So I've thought about doing some investing, but I'm not really interested in stocks or crypto. Now I'm thinking about buying some worthless land or property, including abroad (I'm in Quebec), and waiting for its value to go up. Is it stupid? I could buy something relatively cheap but not too much and wait for its value to go up, then buy some more stuff, and go like that. It wouldn't be to actually live there, at least not in the beginning.
I know of countries where I can just buy property as a foreigner, but I'm not educated enough in how to actually make this worthwhile. I would have to build a network of local contacts and people who know the markets, always keep up with the news, and so on. I like this, it's something a lot more concrete to investing, but I don't want to throw my money away.
