I spoke to an educational consultant who scared me saying my grades are too bad to get into any US college? Where to go from here.

For background I did my undergrad in the UK, I graduated with a 2.1 degree. I got a 59.4% average as my final score, my college rounded that off to a 60% and gave me a 2.1.

I want to do a masters in the USA either this autumn or next year.

On call with the educational consultant they asked me what my gpa was, since I wasn't sure they asked me for my university transcripts and they calculated I had an approximate 2.0 GPA. This is considered quite poor and yes my grades are not the best, they are quite average because i wasn't that serious when I was in college. I did my own research myself and found that its probably a little higher, as per the stuff i read online my GPA is approx 2.5 or higher.

They did tell me I didn't have enough grades to get into any decent university in the US, they gave me 2 colleges which I could potentially apply to and get in but that just seems like such a limited option. Surely there has to be some college who would accept me. I could get excellent recommendations from my managers and I have 3 years of industry experience with a big IT company.

They mentioned they only work with nationally credited universities and I'm started to see that as possible red flag. What are the chances they are limiting my options just because they want commission from those specific colleges. I don't feel they are working with my best interests here.

Any advice for me please?
