Hi, I'm considering transferring unis from Ateneo de Manila in the Philippines to Curtin Uni in Singapore. Here are the pros and cons for both. May I get an opinion on what would you choose based on the pros and cons.
Cons:
Curtin
Ateneo
Pros:
Curtin:
Ateneo
Fyi, this is literally this is the hardest choice I've had to make so far in my life. So I would appreciate your help. Thanks so much.

Cons:
Curtin
- Will have to take a 2nd stage diploma course first - unsure if I can move on to bachelor's 2nd year from the 2nd stage diploma because of class size. (accomplishing the stage 2 diploma can lead to bachelor year 2 immediately if there are enough people)
- The diploma course starts early around July 2024 meaning I've got to decide soon
- Will have to leave the moment I finish my education as I'm not a PR/Citizen and I will be on a student visa then unless I manage to get a job in Singapore if I'm lucky. However, it's hard.
- The 2nd year will be in a dorm meaning I'm living with other people.
- Might be an outsider due to my background as I'm an introverted TCK.
- Life will be more expensive
Ateneo
- Will have to study longer because I have 4 years left. I shifted my course so my study period has been extended.
- I can’t do much in my spare time as I lived in Singapore for nearly a decade, I feel like there's more to do there even if it's small and commuting is hard in the Philippines.
- Less things I like to buy for fun.
- Unnecessary subjects might hinder my attention to the subjects I like
- Might be an outsider due to my background as I'm an introverted TCK.
Pros:
Curtin:
- More focused curriculum
- Easy to get around the country - commuting is easier
- Shorter course as it's 2 years
- More things I like to buy in the country
Ateneo
- Privacy when staying at home
- Cheaper things compared to Singapore
- Might have better chances to go overseas even though the uni is only recognized regionally based on people's experiences who've had a similar situation.
Fyi, this is literally this is the hardest choice I've had to make so far in my life. So I would appreciate your help. Thanks so much.
