I've been renting my current residence for 8 years. Out of no where, my landlord told me he was selling. I've had a good rapport with my landlord, always paid on time and never had any issues. When it was first on the market it was considerable over priced (all houses are) and I didn't feel it was quite worth it. They lowered the price and I informed my landlord I would buy it. I was pre-approved and his realtor informed me she would be writing up a contract and we'd move forward. In the intrim, I contacted a friend's realtor l, everyone I spoke to told me I should have my own. The day I told my landlords realtor I had my own realtor she immediately did a switch up, telling me I could not have a realtor and only she would represent as a dual realtor. She bombarded me with texts messages and demanded I call her. I informed her that I did not have any verbal or written contract with anyone (she insisted I had one with her) she then said there was another offer and would be "pushing" it. I wish I recorded the convo. I matched the offer and waived inspection. She told my landlord I was not approved (his words) and that my realtor was deceiving me. Sooo my landlord went with the other offer. I'm supposed to vacate in 2 weeks and have no where to go, I have a son and his school is 5 mins away. He has a hard time with changes and I've been extremely stressed out. I'm planning on filling a complaint with the board of realtors but I'm debating seeking legal action? I feel like it's professionally and morally unethical. She knew I had a son and it's winter, living in New England. I'm wondering about others take on this... I really don't have anyone to talk to...
