Listing not transferred but signage replaced

Ny wife and I are selling our house and our realtor told us she was switching from one agency to a competitor the following day. We opted NOT to transfer the listing and stayed with the original company. This evening we discovered the new company had taken down our signage and replaced it with the new signage for the company we did not transfer the listing to. I’ll call the company in the morning but it seems like a big deal to have that done without permission so I’m curious if someone has ever experienced this.
