My family has outgrown our home and is searching for a new one in the area. My husband is very hung up on his childhood home. His mom and dad built it, and all of his happiest memories are there, it fits the bill for everything we want in a house, and it was the last home that his family all lived in together. When my husband moved from this house it was because of his parents divorce and his mom could not afford it on her own. To make matters a little more sticky his mom passed away very early so he feels a very strong emotional connection to this house.
We have been thinking about sending a letter to the homeowners asking if they would consider selling because of my husband's connection to the house and so on and so forth.
Good idea? Bad idea? I looked the house up on zillow and it was last sold 20 years ago.
