Making an unsolicited offer

I’ve been debating for a long time on how to do this, and I was hoping fellow redditors would help me figure out the best approach.

Here’s the thing: I want to buy my grandparents old house. Over the years, the house was sold off and now unrelated people own the house. I want to buy it, but the house is not for sale.

I don’t want to offend the current owners, I understand it is someone else’s property now. But, I am hoping that maybe they would be interested in selling.

Did anyone have success with something like that ? Any help/advice would be much appreciated
