Hello kinfolk,
I’m currently trying to get a loan on a SFH purchase and it seems I could get a much better rate if the $27K in cc balances I recently paid off were reflected in my FICO score.
I can’t wait until those CC companies notify the credit bureaus (12-20 days depending on CC company) due to my Escrow closing date coming up fast.
I discovered Rapid Rescoring as a potential solution but I’m running into a couple of challenges.
1) Multiple brokers seem to not be interested in doing RR. They’re not saying outright “no” but they keep trying to convince me that the rates won’t be that different, that it could take a lot of days, that the process is cumbersome, etc.
2) Each of them is giving me a different timeline for how long the RR would take…anywhere from 4 to 8 days.
I suspect that their advice might be less than objective because they simply don’t want to put in the work and thus they’re trying to steer me away from RR.
Does anyone here know how long RR typically takes and whether it can be done without having to go through a broker/agent/lender. Thank you in advance
