New house advice.

So I’m trying to get a new house and honestly don’t see a need for a realtor, but they said I need one or I will be assigned one from the builder? I feel like there has to be a way to save on this somehow. Side note, maybe I don’t understand something, but I don’t see the need for one on a new house. Thanks for the advice and let me know if more info is needed.
