Buying a house in our dream town! Got super lucky. Happened to see it just about first on Zillow, went for a showing along with 3 others homes that night. That night started pre approval. Realtor said it was getting a lot of showings and if we wanted to make an offer it should be that night. So we did which was essentially 4k over asking with 10K in concessions. Feel super lucky that no one beat us to it as real estate here is going within days.
Loan officer just gave us our first estimate, with 20% down it’s estimated at $2,200 a month total with a 7.49% rate. We have another 20K we’re going to put down that she hasn’t factored in yet. But damn, that’s brutal when I feel like we’re putting down close to a third. Anyone else have experience with buying this high? How soon can you refinance?
