Opinion Needed: Worth Filing a Grade Appeal?

I took an accelerated course (16 weeks cramped in 18 days). The professor had initially set up the course to have extra credit on each homework assignment if done early, but then the professor readjusted the grades and took away the extra credit points 2 days before the class was about to end without any prior notice or warning about it. We, students, would not have noticed the grade drop had another student not mentioned for all of us to check. The extra credit kinda significantly affected several students grades and they were upset. For me, it could have gotten my B to an A in the class. I received an A+ on all homework, quizzes, and labs, except for exams. Along with this, the professor was inconsistent with their communication during such an accelerated course (only the TA and professor were available resources), was kind of rude in their emails whenever they replied, and also took away extra attempts they had initially put in for homework and lab assignments without informing the students.

My concern is that the extra credit was offered to all the other students who took the course in other semesters except for this accelerated version which makes no sense because we are all already doing the same amount of work but in a MUCH MUCH shorter time and on top of that taking away the extra credit points we all relied on at the very end of the course when all the assignments were past due date and there was no chance of improving any grade just seems unfair. I talked to the professor and they mentioned that they had already decided on not having extra credit for this accelerated version of the course, but forgot to take it away from the course until the end of the course when they were checking everything. Which like...if you already forgot to change it, then might as well keep it since the course is already ending in 2 days and everyone has already put in the effort to complete all the assignments early. Also, during this accelerated version the points were only distributed among homework, labs, quizzes, and exams, while in a normal semester, there are projects and an extra exam that distributes the point weight more so all the weight isn't on just homework and exams. Just makes sense in my head that extra credit should be included just like all the other semesters and given the same opportunity to us, especially when we needed those points the most. Am I being irrational to think that?

I want to reach out to the Head of the department and address these concerns and maybe file a grade appeal for it. Do these seem like valid or worthy enough reasons to file a grade appeal or talk to a superior? Or should I just accept my grade and move on?

Any and every advice, help, or comment would be much appreciated!!
