My parents recently got separated bc my dad cheated. 
My mom still lives in my childhood home and my dad lives elsewhere. My mom wants to keep our childhood home but it’s a super nice house with $40k of property taxes. Without my dad, she may be able to buy out my dad but she wouldn’t be able to afford these taxes. She is absolutely devastated and I want to help her out however I can. Is there any way to lower property tax in CA in 2024? Would it help if my parents got divorced sooner than later? We have proof of my dad’s infidelity. Not sure if it matters but my mom is 60 but can work another 10 years.
