Residential Real Estate Draw?

So my team lead is leaving the state but wants to keep the team running here. I am considering asking her to put me on a low base salary and a draw against commission with me to keep everything after I repay the draw. Its a small team and I'm the most experience. I'm willing to take on more responsibility as well. This would help me because after a recent break up, I'm in a tight spot financially. My questions is I know this is rare in residential, I've only ever seen it once before but they pretty much only did million dollar homes. How would you approach this if you were in my position? If you were in my team leads position what would make her want to make this deal with me?
