Looking for some general advice / a sanity check here. I know no one can definitively answer this without seeing our contract, but I feel like everyone is trying to sweep this under the rug to get us to closing and I want to know if I'm the crazy one.

We're under contract on a house and the seller has acted... unusually. It's an elderly woman who (we've been told over and over) has never sold a house before and doesn't really understand how the process usually works. For example, when we submitted our inspection objections / repair requests, she contacted our inspector directly and yelled at him about it. He proceeded to reassure her that everything "would be fine" and the house was "in great condition" and she didn't have anything to worry about. (?!)

We had asked to have a licensed electrician of our choosing come out to give a quote, then be credited that amount. The seller finally agreed, then proceeded to bring someone out to complete work on the house without telling anyone until it was done. We don't know what was done, if they were licensed, how they know the seller, or if they tested for asbestos before doing work on the walls (which our inspector recommended due to the age of the house).

We're planning to contact the electrician ourselves, get in writing all that information, then send another electrician of our choosing out to verify the work, and possibly request asbestos testing of the walls that were cut into, by a different inspector. Is there anything else we should be doing? Grateful for any thoughts!
