My family is ready to buy a new house but our down payment will come from our current house being sold. Is it better to make an offer on a house with the offer that having a contingency of my house being sold, or is it better to first sell my house with the contingency that I will need to buy another house before the buyer of my house can close. The housing market is extremely competitive where I’m at and I’m trying to figure out how to get an edge even though I need to sell my house before I can close on a new one.
