We just bought a house. We had a sewer inspection, which revealed some large root balls. Part of the contract then stated that sellers would clean and repair all pipes in order to close. They did so, and it seemed like the pipes were cleared. We closed Monday. On Tuesday morning we go back to the house to find a toilet has been running and flooding what we assume was all night and has now caused 30k of damage. A sewer inspection reveals the sewer line was blocked which is what caused the flooding.
Do we have any recourse against the seller or the sewer company? We hate to pay our deductible and see our premiums go up due to something the sellers were supposed to fix.
