I’ve been considering selling my townhouse for a while now. It’s in a highly sought-after suburb, but after a few years here, I’ve realized it’s not for me. I’m single, in my early 30s, and would much rather rent closer to the city to enjoy more flexibility and amenities.
If I sell, I’ll likely net $150–200k, which I plan to use to pay off my student loans and put the rest into a high-yield savings account.
I’ve come to terms with the fact that I don’t really enjoy being a homeowner right now. Maybe that will change in the future if I start a family, but for now, renting feels like the better fit for my lifestyle.
Thoughts?
