We found a house recently that has everything we want, but my one reservation is that it’s roughly 600 ft (2 blocks) from a local state highway. The road noise aspect is fine, but my concern is health-related. I’ve seen the guidelines on living at least 500 ft or 1000 ft from a major highway, but my question is what constitutes a major highway?
This isn’t like a major freeway or interstate. It’s a 4 lane local highway. It’s relatively busy during rush hour and day time hours and much lighter at night. Do the same guidelines apply here? Is there specific data on this?
Thanks for any info you can provide.
