Hi everyone! I’m an international student in my last semester, studying Information Management in Germany. Over the past four years, I’ve learned so much about navigating university life here, and I wanted to share a few key takeaways for anyone who might find them helpful:

Time Management is Key: German universities give you a lot of freedom, so staying on top of deadlines and organizing your workload is crucial. Learn German Early: Even if your course is in English, knowing German helps immensely for daily life (e.g., apartment hunting, grocery shopping, or dealing with bureaucracy). Use University Resources: Libraries here are incredible, and many have free access to online tools and books—take advantage of them! Build a Support Network: Making friends as an international student can be tough, but saying yes to random social events or small conversations in class has helped me find amazing people. Recently, I hosted some friends (fellow international students) and cooked them a meal to celebrate finishing one part of my thesis. It was such a wholesome reminder of how important it is to stay connected while juggling studies.

I’ve documented a bit of my experience in a vlog, which also includes study tips and daily life as a student in Germany. If you’re interested, feel free to take a look—it might give you some insight into what life here is like. 😊

How’s your experience studying in Germany so far? Any tips you’d add to the list?
