My husband and I just signed a contract to start a new build. We have a 60 day contingency to get our current house under contract or we can walk and get our earnest money back.
Our current house has been on the market for 25 days with very few showings. Currently listed at $325,000. Our realtor has suggested two options:
$300,000 was really the very lowest we wanted to sell for. But to be honest, I’d rather get this house sold and lose out on a few thousand dollars than lose out on the new house.
Other houses in our neighborhood are listed anywhere from $280,000 to $385,000.

Reduce the price by $5,000 each week starting the first week in January.
Take the listing off the MLS and relist at the new price of $300,000 which would capture more people searching only up to $300,000.
$300,000 was really the very lowest we wanted to sell for. But to be honest, I’d rather get this house sold and lose out on a few thousand dollars than lose out on the new house.
