My wife’s team leader is leaving the brokerage, my wife plans to stay at the brokerage and keep doing business solo.
My question is based on leads, my wife has been given 8-9 total leads over the last 3 years through many sites, we’re curious about one set of clients specifically.
I believe these particular clients were Zillow based. This ONE set of clients are the best clients ever and huge investors who have purchased/sold 8-9 homes over the last 3 years.
We’re wondering what happens to them as a clients. Her team leaders contract was written to where her leads have a split of 50% on the first transaction, then my wife gets on 75% of all personal transactions after.
She paid her 50% referral fee on the first transaction, then 25% on that rest. What happens to that client after the team leader leaves and the contract is voided. Again the team leader left, my wife is staying at the original brokerage and is not leaving or breaking the contract.
Who has rights to that client, and how would you expect commission splits moving forward if they plan to do business with my wife moving forward?
